Finding the right perfume at a fragrance store is not an easy task, especially knowing that many nowadays are fakes. It\’s also common to find yourself searching for your favorite designer perfume in various perfume shops online and are having a hard time determining what the original is and what is not. It\’s very easy to get ripped off with a fake nowadays as there are many impostors now that are so similar to the original it\’s hard to tell. Spotting the difference is the most important thing in finding a high quality perfume.
As with most fragrance shops the tester boxes are displayed, and what you will buy is put away. Ask the clerk to give you a box and possibly open it from the ones that they sell. There are certain manufacturers that have permission to make similar perfume and write messages such as designer impostor or inspired by. They will look and smell like the original, but are not. To check the honesty and validity of a fragrance store it\’s good to ask them, after you\’ve discovered this, if they sell such perfumes, if they say no, then avoid it all costs, they either don\’t know their stock, or are openly lying to customers and shouldn\’t be trusted.
It\’s easiest to find fake perfumes if you have already used this perfume in the past and have the box and bottle still. Make sure that on your way to the perfume shop you take them with you, as it will help you prove the validity of the ones there. Also, make sure that the perfume that you had in the past is not a fake as well, as that will do you no good in verifying the ones at the fragrance store. When in the fragrance shop take out the old box and review it with theirs, check for color, design, and material used, and ditch the store should you find a difference.
In order to get further validation of the originality of a perfume, check the bottles. Try to get a bottle that\’s not originally the tester, as that may be real, and what they sell be a fake. If the clerk at the fragrance shop doesn\’t give you a bottle from the ones they sell, and you have validated everything else of the box, check the return policy. If they say that returns are allowed, then you can purchase it and open it right on the spot to review the rest of the points. If it turns out to be fake ask for your money on the spot and never return. When checking the bottle, as well as the box, make sure that spelling is correct, as well as the emblem of the company. It\’s also a good thing to check the name of the designer, as that\’s commonly missed.
Many impostors at fragrance shops may have the correct packaging, down to the spelling of the designers name; however, even though the bottles are original the color is different. If the perfume you are looking for is a certain color, say yellow, then the perfume at the fragrance shop shouldn\’t be a different color. Make sure that you also check for dilution. If the Women\’s perfume at the fragranceshop is lighter colored than the original you had it could have been diluted. This is very important to watch out for as sometimes chemicals that are dangerous are used.
As low prices in online fragrance shops are usually easier to find, many head to online auctions and websites. However, validity of an online fragranceshop is almost impossible to confirm. The only way to do it is by seeing what the rest of the customers of this seller have to say. As ebay.com and amazon.com are most commonly searched up for various purchases and are known to have low prices, they have great review options on the different sellers. If you chose to buy from someone on either of these websites check their history, reviews, and consistency. If you are buying from a different website where they don\’t have reviews posted for the seller, you may want to do a simple search of the company or website. Usually if there is an unsatisfied customer, you can find a review online in a blog or one of the various rant websites that people discuss different companies and the quality of their product.
As a rule of thumb, when purchasing Women\’s perfume from an online perfume shop make sure that you ask for extra pictures. They need to include the bottle and box with their details, and if they send you advertising pictures of the perfume, don\’t buy it. Also, make sure that you ask for their return policy, as its good to know that if you didn\’t get a good look in the pictures, you can return it if you find out its fake after you\’ve received it. Lastly, if it\’s really surprisingly cheap, it\’s fake.
Avoid going to a hidden away little perfume shop to find high quality perfumes. Anything that looks shady probably is. Best bet is department stores, as they offer somewhat outdated original perfumes at great prices. Also, you may want to follow sales or possible coupons at a trusted fragrance shop. Buying a fake perfume is always a risk due to health hazards, however, they also lose their smell over time and may even smell bad after a while.
